7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Should Ontario change the way we elect our provincial government?
The Carleton Provincial Liberal Association invites you to join us for a special online policy consultation exploring electoral reform in Ontario and what role, if any, the Ontario Liberal Party should play in advancing it.
Our policy process is driven by a mission to listen, learn and share. This event is part of a series where we will learn from local experts and advocates, and we believe learning is done better together.
Facilitated by past candidate and current CPLA Policy Director Brandon Bay, Réal Lavergne of the Revitalizing Our Democracy working group, will join us to present a proposed Ontario Liberal policy resolution, “A Leadership Role on Electoral Reform,” and explain the thinking behind it.
The proposal argues that Ontario’s current first-past-the-post electoral system does not adequately reflect how Ontarians vote and calls on the Ontario Liberal Party to make electoral reform a priority, work with other provincial parties interested in reform, and pursue a more proportional electoral system.
